Not sure what to build next? Let the story tell you.
Quest Book adds an in-game journal that guides you through Factorio with 37 story quests, from a crash landing on Nauvis to the edge of the solar system. Each quest has a short piece of story and clear objectives with live progress bars.
Features
- 13 chapters, 37 quests: crash landing, automation, defense, oil, trains and robots, every science pack, the rocket. With Space Age: orbit, Vulcanus, Fulgora, Gleba, Aquilo and the edge of the system.
- Branching progression: defense runs alongside automation, and the inner planets can be visited in any order.
- Progress counts itself: production, research, buildings, rocket launches, planet landings and platform travel. Completed objectives stay completed, even if you tear the buildings down later.
- Objective tracker in the corner of the screen, so you always know what's next.
- Small rewards for some quests, claimed by each player individually.
- Vanilla and Space Age: quests for content you don't have are skipped automatically.
- Multiplayer: progress is shared across your force.
- Languages: English, Ukrainian.
How to use
- Open the journal with Shift + J, the book button in the top-left corner, or the shortcut bar.
- Click a quest in the tracker to jump to it in the journal.
- The key can be rebound in Settings → Controls → Mods.
Compatibility
- Factorio 2.0, with or without Space Age.
- Safe to add to an existing save: quests you have already done complete on their own within a second.
- Total-overhaul modpacks (Space Exploration, Krastorio 2 and similar) are not supported. The mod will load, but the story follows the vanilla progression.
Admin commands
/qb-complete [id]: complete one quest, or all active ones/qb-reset: reset quest progress for your force
