i Category filtering of what gets upgraded

Sometimes an area contains things you do and don't want to upgrade, could it present something like a blueprint saving dialog where you can check certain categories (or items that were enumerated) and exempt them from being done? I assume that right now the best way to do this is create the planner, then edit it to clear certain items.

any suggestions?

Yeah, comments here: https://i.imgur.com/cEn32H4.jpeg
Basically, have a pre-staging dialog to refine what items in the area of interest you want to consider, so that the planner doesn't add things that the user doesn't care about but which were unavoidably in the middle of the selection.

This feature would be very handy. If it would work like the Deconstruction Planner would, that would be very helpful. Be able to drag the option into your inventory, then either whitelist or blacklist. The benefit of it working this way, is that you can create inventory items for different sets, or upgrade/downgrades you want to perform.

Not sure exactly what you are asking for. Zero idea on the fredom you have, but having it act like the "Decontruction Planner" is ideal. Just click on a spot and then select what you want to whitelist/blacklist, with the ability to have multiple items to add into the list.

Maybe anything buildable or placeable. Nothing consumable would be needed for sure.

here is a view that I am thinking about:
