Adds extra challenge to space travel by giving asteroids a chance to spawn at a higher quality than normal.
Configurable settings to adjust the quality rate of each planet; by default is 0 at Nauvis with an increasing factor the farther out from Nauvis you go.
Supports various modded planets, each configurable in the mod settings menu. If a planet you want is missing from this list, leave a discussion post for it and I'll add it in due time.
Also optionally supports additional quality tier mods, no warranties if its too hard though!
Quality asteroids do not drop quality chunks because of current API limitations. I may add that as an option when it becomes viable.
Mechanics
The quality mechanic does not quite work the exact same way as it does with other systems. In the base game, the quality chance only applies to if that item will increase in quality by 1 tier, and each subsequent tier jump is fixed to 10%.
Because it would be lame if most of the asteroids were just Uncommon, this mod slightly changes that behaviour just for asteroids to have the quality chance apply each time.
For example at a quality rate of 0.3:
