I was able to get the mod to work by changing the version number in the info.json file to 0.18.
Instructions:
Unzip the mod file. Next, open the info.json file in a text editor and change the "factorio_version" number to 0.18 and save the file. Last thing to do is re-zip the mod and place the new file in your Factorio\mod folder.
