am i right that with this steel boiler i can use 4 regular (eg. not modded) steam engines?
No, Steel Boiler superheat steam to 315C, so it can consume twice fuel as regular boiler, consuming as much water as regular boiler. If you use regular steam engine, you would waste everything provided by steel boiler
And this mod come with it's own Steel Engines, so you don't need any other mods for them.
