When placed on a east-west rail, it's very difficult to tell the state of a regular posted rail signal (there are literally only 2 pixels of width).
I suggest making the posts slightly rotated to the camera - it may not be realistic from the train's perspective, but would help the experience. They can also be slightly tilted up.

Thanks for pointng this out. I can't turn them too much because then it'll be ambigious if its on a curved or straigt rail in intersections, but some visibility improvements would be good.
Maybe i'll make the hood around lights only cover the top, if that doesn't make the shape look worse. That way it will be clearly visible from the sides.
