b Abrupt changes in visuals

Hi, I love the mod, but I noticed in a game that this happened: https://i.imgur.com/is9Oamf.jpg

A black chunk-sized square is created because this square has no pollution smog. I don’t know why this happened – perhaps this one chunk had no pollution. That’s the most likely explanation. However, it caused an abrupt change in visuals, and I had to disable the mod as it looked too weird. Hopefully this can be fixed!

that's very odd. a work around could be to refresh the rendering of the smog clouds by changing the settings of the mod to and fro.
do you have a save of this world so i can see why this happens? it's almost seems like that chunk was never registered by the mod for some reason.

i have the problem too. but it's not just limited to 1 chunk but to several. sometimes they even alternate (so where there was no smog, there is smog, but somewhere else there is no smog).

weird, have you tried changing the settings and then changing them back?
if that doesn't work would you mind sharing your world file. so i can investigate it further?

which settings? show smog for player or which for map?

in 'game menu>settings>mod settings>map' change maximum layers of smog to 1 and then back to 5 and see what happens.

i took down a few trees earlier. i don't have the problem anymore. if it comes up again, i'll give it a try and give feedback again

alright thank you, I've also noticed that this issue only happens at the edges of the smog.
is this true? if that is true then i might have an idea where the problem might be.

soo, I've just had it again. changing the setting does nothing. the "evil" chunk is still there after switching to 1 and again when you switch back to 5.

regarding the edges: yes, that may even be possible. it is never really in the centre, always more on the edge. I can only say in general terms whether it is the edge of the smoke.
In any case, the problem is not permanent. Sometimes the chunk has smog, sometimes not.

i think the problem occurs most likely when 2 pollution sources meet in the middle and there is no condition to put a corresponding 'smog graphic' at the edges there. if this is the case non uniform shapes of smog could cause this issue especially at a smaller scale. I will have to do some digging to fix this. thank you for the report.
