Nuclear Locomotive

I needed a locomotive for faster access to my outpousts as well as a faster method of transportation so I created my own mod.
This is my first mod, I have created a locomotive/train that uses nuclear fuel cells to operate in addition to providing a higher speed, for outpoust or for replacing all trains in base.

Features

  • Locomotive with a maximum speed of 600K/h
  • Higher acceleration
  • Supports vanilla wagons

Recipe and research

Adds a new locomotive that works with nuclear fuel cells, can reach a maximum speed of 600k/h, has a higher acceleration but everything comes with a cost to balance the mod. The technology is unlocked with red, green, blue, violet, yellow with a total of 10K of each. The locomotive supports the vanilla wagons to work.

why ?
I have created several megabases and for the outposts the vanilla trains are not very fast for long distances, so I have created my own solution to fix that problem.

Recipe
  • Locomotive x1
  • Iron Plate x50
  • Steel x100
  • LDS x60
  • Electric Engines 20x
  • Nuclear Reactor x1

1.1.0 Realese

  • Realese with several balance changes

  • Changed locomotive recipe.

  • Reactor optimization, going from 14min of autonomy to 22min with 150 cells.

  • More acceleration force 20%.

  • More braking force 10%.

  • More reverse power.

  • Research cost reduced from 22k to only 10K.

  • Descriptions edited to be more clear and accurate.

Future

I'm working on a skech for a nuclear locomotive to be integrated in the vanilla game models, with pipes and a minimalist reactor, keeping as much as possible the vanilla aspects of the game.

I need help to be able to model and render such a project and I am not a graphic artist but I do what I can.
