You should add this information directly to the description, otherwise more people will come with this bug over time.
on the other hand, I can't understand why that doesn't work, so installing the scenario as a mod. I have already played a few other scenarios and I was able to install all of them as a mod and were then viewed as scenarios of the game.
Hopefully this will also work with this scenario at some point.
