Mega Logistics

by carmo

Compress 10,000 units of crude oil, copper ore, or iron ore into a single mega-item for easy long-distance transport. Decompress back when you need it. Uses a dedicated Mega Compressor machine (100 kW).

Mega Logistics

Hauling raw resources across the map eats belts, trains, and patience. Mega Logistics adds a single endgame machine — the Mega Compressor — that crushes 10,000 units of a raw resource into one compact mega-item, so an entire ore patch or oil field can ride on a single belt slot. Ship it wherever you need it, then decompress it back into the original resource with zero loss.

What it does

  • Compress 10,000 crude oil into 1 Mega Oil
  • Compress 10,000 copper ore into 1 Mega Copper
  • Compress 10,000 iron ore into 1 Mega Iron
  • Decompress any mega-item back into the exact resource it came from, lossless

Oil flows in and out as a fluid; the ores move as items. Mega Oil stacks to 1, the mega-ores stack to 10.

The Mega Compressor

A dedicated machine with its own recipe category, so it can't be shortcut by a normal assembler or chemical plant. It has both fluid input and output, two module slots, and produces no pollution. By default a cycle takes 60 seconds and the machine draws 500 kW.

Efficiency research

Research Mega Compression Efficiency to bring the power draw down. Eight levels, each shaving 10% off consumption, for up to an 80% reduction at the top tier. Every level applies instantly to all the machines you've already placed.

Make it yours

Startup settings let you tune the mod:

  • Override the production time — default 60 s, flip it to a faster mode if you care more about raw throughput than balance.
  • Override the base energy consumption — default 500 kW.

Getting started

Unlock the Mega Logistics technology (requires Production Science and Advanced Oil Processing), build a Mega Compressor, and pipe your resources in. That's it.
