Panel (Ctrl+L) and area planner to change the color and the always-on state of lamps by area or by whole surface, with editable presets, a random color mode, undo/redo history and a live lamp preview.
Providing the player with new tools or adjusting the game interface, without fundamentally changing gameplay.
Version: 1.1.0
Date: 2026-10-16
Info:
- Release for Factorio 2.1. It has the same features as version 1.0.0.
Version: 1.0.1
Date: 2026-10-12
Major Features:
- Lamp Planner panel, opened with Ctrl+L (rebindable in Settings > Controls) or with the lamp button on the shortcut bar.
- Area planner: click "Get area planner" and drag over an area to change every matching lamp inside it. The panel closes when the planner is taken so it never gets in the way of the selection.
- Whole surface: pick the surface from a list (planets and space platforms show their icons, and surfaces from other mods are included) and apply the changes to every matching lamp on it, after a confirmation window.
- Random mode: tick the presets you want (a checkbox next to each preset) and apply random colors from them, to an area or to a whole surface, either one random color per lamp or one random color for all lamps.
- History (undo and redo): the mod records the previous state (color and always-on) and the position of every lamp it changes. Undo restores only the lamps that still exist, so lamps removed in the meantime are skipped. Up to 30 steps per player, with undo and redo buttons in the panel and the hotkeys Ctrl+Shift+L (undo) and Ctrl+Alt+L (redo), both rebindable.
Features:
- Color change with red, green and blue sliders (using the game's own colored slider tracks) and number fields, plus an exact color swatch.
- Live lamp preview in the panel, using a real lamp of the selected lamp type on a lab floor, with + and - buttons for manual zoom. The zoom never changes by itself and cannot reveal anything but the lamp.
- Lamp state: Don't change, Always on, or Automatic (back to the normal behavior). Color and state can be changed together or separately.
- Lamp type filter: all lamps or a single lamp type, including lamps added by other mods.
- Circuit switch: lamps connected to a circuit network are skipped by default and can be included.
- 62 built-in presets: planets and space (with planet and space platform foundation icons), the 12 science pack colors (with the pack icons), light sources (candle, tungsten, halogen, sky, old fluorescent, grow light, black light, mercury vapor, neon sign, lightning) and a basic color palette.
- Custom presets: save the current color as a new preset (it goes to the top of the list), rename, reorder and remove any preset, including the built-in ones. Presets are shared by all players.
- Restore defaults: brings the built-in presets back to their original order, names and colors, with the option to also delete your own presets.
- Space Age is not required: its planet and science pack presets still work without the expansion, only their icons are hidden.
Gui:
- Presets open in a side column of the same window, with the same height as the settings column. A tab on the right edge of the window, as tall as the window, expands the presets (red) or collapses them (blue).
- The window can be dragged and remembers its position, and it closes with the X button or with Esc. Settings (color, mode, state, lamp type, circuit switch and ticked presets) are kept for each player.
- The helper surface used by the preview exists only while the panel is open and is hidden from the remote view surface list.
- Custom shortcut bar icon and custom planner icon.
Locale:
- English and Brazilian Portuguese.
Info:
- Release for Factorio 2.0. The mod does not run any code every tick: it only acts on the hotkeys, panel clicks and planner selections.
- All of the code of this mod was written by an AI: Claude (Anthropic), model Claude Sonnet 5.5, using the free version of Claude.
