Sorry, I've considered it in the past, but I won't be using github for any of my Factorio mods.
From what I can tell, the only reasons to use github are to make it easier to collaborate, and for version control (making it easier to track changes and revert them when necessary).
Considering the vast majority of mods still using this library are my own (with very few exceptions, Bio Industries being the most prominent, along with some random plexpt mods), the first point is rather moot. Any bugs in the library, I will notice immediately and fix myself, and if nobody else is actively using the library, there won't be any feature requests either.
As for the second point, it's just not all that useful to me personally, when considering the downsides of using github (updating on two different sites, tracking issues across two different sites, extra steps to do any minor updates, etc). It just makes things take longer than they need to, when I could simply change a couple lines of code, re-zip the mod and publish it to the mod portal, without finagling with github.
tl;dr the benefits of github don't outweigh the downsides imo
I think for any aspiring and upcoming modders, they should look towards other libraries instead. There's plenty of them to latch onto, with their own github repos and everything. (there's also technically a couple of forks on github, but they're all dead, and don't have the same updates that this one has). I guess I just don't see the point
