For example in the current version, if I use the Text "|#| [item=iron-plate]/s" in Plain text mode (and input from circuit signal), it will show the "[item=iron-plate]" part literally, not the item icon. It would be nice to have access to rich text in plain text mode.
It would also be nice to have an icon selector to insert rich text (like when renaming train stops and programmable speakers).

Note: rich text works fine when not in Plain text, however the information gets quickly overwhelming when you get like 10 or more signs next to each other (especially when zooming out). An other drawback is the constant flickering when using default animations.
