O' dearth Mod Maker of the name Xeadriel, creator of the Hippies Mod. I come with a message from the Great Grand Wizard of the Circuit Networks known as Dosh "Zyllius" Doshington. His genius suggestion is for your "Worm" issue, to be precise. The marvelous idea is to replace the Worms with, in his words, "Giant Bongs". Thou have been given full permission to use his "Giant Bongs" idea however you please.

Lol, interesting idea of formal you have there haha.
I suppose I could make some sort of Giant Bong shaped mortar... Hm. I could even keep the regular Acid projectile with them.

I was also thinking maybe glued down activists, like another guy posted here as well, but I can't think of a reasonable projectile. So yeah the giant bong is currently the best idea. I'm still open for ideas until I'm done making the nests though.
