This allows its use with mod pipes (as in space exploration)

I know this is quite old but I'd like to get this mod working with space exploration and wondering if you could elaborate on this?

Is it as simple as replacing name == "heat-pipe" with type == "heat-pipe" in control.lua? I'm way out of my depth here.
