I would be really interested in seeing a new resource from Gleba that is intentionally designed as a way to grow a "super-wood" alternative that is useful in a number of "green" applications perhaps? Imagine if the science chain instead went:
Hybridization - Hybridize bioflux and Tree Seeds from Nauvis to engineer a new varient of tree seeds that produces incredibly strong and flexible wood. Can only be grown on very limited areas on Gleba initially. It would grant a "supertree" that might be used in other recipes or burn really efficiently to take some of the early-gleba pressure off. It could be part of the recipes for Agricultural Towers and Biochambers (and perhaps a hydroponics nursery or something) instead of landfill.
Artificial hybrid soil - potentially same recipe as the artificial soils, so hybrid seeds + nutrients + landfill.
Overgrowth hybrid soil - hybrid seeds + spoilage + biter eggs + artificial hybrid soil? Maybe a direct requirement for the hydroponics nursery or something.
Hydroponics bay could be always inputting water, outputting spoilage or some liquid waste, and growing trees like yumako/jellynut/hybrid on planets other than Gleba?
The bio-coal could then just be potentially smelting the "super-wood", which could have a neat mechanic of giving off LOADS of spores (doesn't matter on Nauvis, matters a lot on Gleba) and be very energy dense? And coal obviously very polluting to burn for energy, but doesn't matter on Gleba :) Might make a great fuel for early game spaceships that don't have access to nuclear too?
