Extended Research System


Did you ever felt, that the advanced tiers of Belts, Inserters, Ammunitions or even the Assembling machine 3 are only decoratives? Ahh of course not, but did you ever thought about that, they are somewhat unimportant features? You just could launch a rocket without building any of them... Not any more! This mod helps you solve this riddle, you have to build the advanced tiers of those, if you want to advance in the Tech tree.

i [Added]Request: new signal also output time cost of research

Hello I started a new run and am currently loving this amazing mod!

I particularly like the new logistic challenge with the labs and making my own setup.

I love combinator clocks and toying around with timming belts and production, and remembered an old idea I had for a mod, to make a signal output the time cost of the current research, something like a signal T = 60 for 60 seconds research and so on. (Maybe other letter as T is commonly used for train numbers in stations?)

Could this be possible and if so, pretty please?

edit: also make the signal for each science pack = the number of flasks needed for current research, as an optional toggleable option?

maybe did it even further.
like a combinator that outputs rocket silo content and another one that control whether rocket to launch.

Hello Magick93 and meifray!

I did the update, added a clock signal to represent the time in ticks, this is what the devs thought to use so I used it (did not wanted to multiple with the game speed, some people using different speeds), science packs return with the required amount, and the main signal represents how many units needed.

On the rocket launch control, probably there is some mod for it, but in vanilla, you can control the satellite insertion, if you under a minimal amount of Space Science Pack, so I do not think it is a must have thing for my mod, sorry

I can not see te usefulness on vanilla, so I will not make it into a standalone mod, but anybody can do it, if they wish.
