Even Better Deconstruction Planner lets you filter a deconstruction planner by clicking entities directly in the world. Build a temporary whitelist or blacklist on the fly, use it to deconstruct an area, then put the planner away to reset your changes. No preset management required.
While holding a deconstruction planner:
- Alt + left-click: toggle the hovered entity’s type in the whitelist. Only listed types will be deconstructed.
- Alt + right-click: toggle the hovered entity’s type in the blacklist. Everything except listed types will be deconstructed.
- Normal left-drag: mark an area using the current filters.
- Pipette / Clear cursor: put the planner away and remove temporary changes. Uses your configured bindings.
Behavior and control notes:
- Multiple types are supported. Click an already-listed type again to remove it. Removing the final type returns to an unfiltered planner.
- Switching modes starts a new list. Whitelists and blacklists cannot be combined.
- Filters apply to types, not individual instances. Clicking one wooden chest affects all wooden chests. Different tree species and rock variants may be separate types.
- Cliffs, modded entities, and all qualities are supported, subject to Factorio’s normal deconstruction rules. Research and material requirements still apply.
- Tiles are excluded while filters are active, preventing paving from being removed alongside your selected entities.
- Changes are temporary. Switching planners or book pages also clears them. Existing presets regain their original settings; blueprint-library presets remain untouched.
- Alt-click bindings are reserved globally, even without a planner held. Alt-right-click conflicts with native pin creation. Rebind conflicting actions in Settings → Controls.
- Native Shift-drag cancellation and right-drag inverse filtering retain their usual behavior.
