This remaster texture packs require "atlas texture size" to be 4096 or higher to run. I managed to see this crash when I manually set that to 2048 in graphic setting. Is your graphic card able to use a higher "atlas texture size" setting?
My atlas setting is currently "largest possible" and I don't think my 2060 Super (8GB Vram) should have issues running at that texture size.
EDIT: Actually, let me test something. One sec.
My bad. Mistakenly had Sprite Resolution set to Normal instead of High. Changing it to High resolved the error.

Might want to put in an error catch of some kind to tell users like me that we have that setting wrong?
