Diverse External Rocket Parts
Make rocket construction a real part of your factory.
Instead of producing hidden rocket parts inside the silo, this mod turns them into physical items that must be manufactured, transported, and delivered to the silo. Each planet has its own recipe based on its local resources and production machines, giving rocket construction a distinct logistical challenge on every world.
Planet-specific production
Rocket parts can be produced using machinery suited to each planet:
- Nauvis: Assemblers, centrifuges, or the Atom Forge.
- Vulcanus: Foundries or assemblers using tungsten-based materials.
- Fulgora: Electromagnetic plants or assemblers using holmium products.
- Gleba: Biochambers or assemblers using carbon fibre and organic materials.
- Aquilo: Cryogenic plants or assemblers using lithium and ice.
- Modded planets: A general-purpose rocket part recipe becomes available when you visit a custom surface.
Finished rocket parts can be transported by belts, bots, trains, or other logistics systems before being inserted into the rocket silo.
Expensive mode
Expensive mode adds more involved recipes and stronger incentives to use each planet’s specialised resources.
On Nauvis, it provides two options:
- An efficient nuclear recipe using nuclear fuel.
- A slower, substantially more expensive conventional recipe available before Kovarex processing.
The conventional recipe prevents progression deadlocks in technology-overhaul mods, while the resource savings of the nuclear recipe give you a strong reason to upgrade once nuclear fuel becomes available.
Configurable balance
Startup settings allow you to adjust:
- Ingredient cost multiplier.
- Number of rocket parts required per launch.
- Rocket part stack size.
- Standard or expensive recipes.
- Uranium-based Nauvis production.
- Productivity inside rocket silos.
External rocket-part recipes support productivity, while quality is disabled to ensure every part remains compatible with the silo.
Compatibility
Requires Factorio 2.1 and Space Age.
Includes integration for:
- Muluna, Moon of Nauvis
- Nuclear Science / Atom Forge
- Planetary Fuels
- Custom planets and surfaces through a remote interface
All vanilla planets retain their individual recipes, while other worlds receive a configurable fallback recipe.
