g belt dragging

Hello I noticed when belt dragging the belt likes to remove the loaders and place a belt instead. while if I drag a belt over other things like buildings or other belts it tries to go underneath it.

Would it be possible to make this a thing for the loaders aswell.

I know you are maintaining it but I hope this could be altered

I think I understand what you mean, but since English is not my native language, I just want to make sure I understood you correctly before I start looking into it.

Do you mean that when you click and drag a belt across a compact loader, Factorio replaces the loader with a belt, while dragging a belt across a normal building instead tries to route it underneath using underground belts?

If that is what you mean, I am definitely willing to look into whether this behaviour can be changed for the loaders as well. If I misunderstood, could you perhaps post a short video or screenshot showing exactly what happens?

yes that is what i mean

Yes, I found the cause.

The mod already has a startup setting called “Strict fast replace loaders”. With that setting enabled, transport belts are no longer allowed to fast-replace compact loaders when you drag them across one.

Loader-to-loader replacement and upgrade-planner progression still remain available. The belt also keeps its normal underground-belt routing information, so this is the intended setting for preventing dragged belts from removing loaders.

I have verified the relevant replacement and underground-routing behaviour. I may update the setting description so that this use is easier to discover.

You can find it under Mod settings → Startup.
