Coop Secure Spawn Areas [WIP]

Good news to announce! Coop-Secure-Spawn-Areas is now pretty stable on multiplayer sessions! It's still work-in-progress, but you are now able to create forces, join them and set the diplomancy of those forces. You are also able to clone the spawn starting area, but it's ugly atm. This mod creates teams and also modifies the map to have separated secure starting spawn areas. Think of each Base for each Team. Enjoy and have fun!

g How do I utilize this?

What are the commands, do I need to pull up a menu, how do I do that? This is quite new to me and I am quite confused.

Depens on what you want to customize. Start Factorio with the correct version to be sure, that the mod is working.
When you are in the factorio menu go to mods and enable this mod. There you can also see mods settings. some are not yet translated.
If you're done, save and factorio will be restarted. Then you can start a map and there are additional mod settings.
Check some youtube videos "how to change mod settings".

Sure you can. Just install the mod. Change the settings in the menu. Load your save game! BE SURE to do a BACKUP first.
In game you can also adjust mod settings. See the youtube link I added to the previous post.

I meant the particulars of the mod lol sorry for the misunderstanding, I know how to do mod settings I just had no clue what settings to mess with for this one. Basically I've got rampant and schall alien loot and rampant enemies don't drop it so I wanted to create a rogue aliens faction that would fight both me and the enemy force (got the new faction covered with creative mod as only normal enemies seem to drop the loot). I did not know how to do this with this mod.

Forgive me if I'm being an idiot and missing the obvious...

I assume the rampant and schall aliens have the same factorio-force called "enemies". That's why this mod wont help at first. You can try to use the factorios build in editor and change the force of some aliens. Then you can use that created force in my mod to change the relationship between the forces. Forces are the same as the "teams" in my mod, just a different name.
Might be that I dont get the problem! :D

I've got creative mod to summon aliens, they drop loot so it was my way around the rampant aliens refusing to drop loot

You can also add the force by my mod. Only important stuff is, that you set this force to some aliens. This works best in the editor.

Unfortunately I didnt find any good video on youtube. Type "/editor" in game an search for forces.

You are able to multi select entities (hold left mouse button and move over some aliens), like aliens (enemies)
and then change the force - on middle right of the editor - from "enemies" to your previously created force.

I can't seem to find the mod setting that allows for creation of forces, I only see starting spawn area clone size, mod setting name add defense multiplier, mod setting name remove biter multiplier, this is the distance between each player spawns, do you want to clone entities within the start area to clone, do you want to clone resources within the start area to clone, mod setting the name high default forces, mod setting name secure area. That's it for what I can see.

There is no mod setting for creation.
You have to use the build-in editor or my mod for this, while in game.

I uploaded a gif on imgur to show you how to use the factorios build-in editor to create a new force and change the force of an object. Imagine the objects/buildings are aliens. After you changed the force, you can change the relationship/diplomancy of your new created force in my mod by simply clicking on the checkboxes. "aliens1" and "what-ever-aliens" are the forces I created manually and I changed the force ("partei") of the buildings from "player" to "what-ever-aliens" and then to "aliens1".

Dammit, I'm so sorry, I never got the notification...anyways, I ended up losing access to my pc cuz it died for awhile. I got it fixed and I don't even remember why I got this mod tbh. But I ended up making a new save anyway, thanks for enduring me I guess!
