Brings back the classic Quickbar when the game is in controller input mode — as it is by default on the Steam Deck — where vanilla replaces the quickbar with the Quick panel. The Quick panel stays available as normal.
The mod's bar is a skin over the real quickbar: it reads and writes the actual quickbar slots through the API, so everything stays in sync with keyboard+mouse play, lives in the vanilla save, and nothing is lost if the mod is removed.
⚠ Requires Factorio 2.1 (currently the experimental branch)
The quickbar APIs this mod uses exist only in Factorio 2.1. Until 2.1 is marked stable, you need the experimental branch:
- Steam (PC and Deck alike): right-click Factorio → Properties → Game Versions & Betas → Experimental. Standalone install: Settings → Other → Enable experimental updates.
- Back up saves and blueprints you care about BEFORE switching — anything touched by 2.1 can never be opened in 2.0 again (FFF-444).
- When 2.1 becomes stable, just switch off the beta branch — saves carry over seamlessly.
Features
- Shows automatically only while the input method is "game controller"; hides in keyboard+mouse mode (where the vanilla quickbar exists). Manual toggle:
CTRL+SHIFT+Q/LT + DPad-Down. - Tap a slot (touchscreen or trackpad cursor): pipette the item — real item from inventory, ghost if you have none. Tap the matching slot again to clear your cursor.
- Tap an empty slot: opens the native item picker (with quality support), like the vanilla quickbar. The picker lists only items you can currently craft or gather (research-aware). With an item in hand, a tap assigns that item to the slot instead. Right-click: clears the slot.
- Page button on each row's left end cycles that row's quickbar page (also
CTRL+SHIFT+X/LT + DPad-Upfor row 1); how many pages it cycles through is a setting (default 2). - Draggable via the thin strip on top; position is remembered. Default: bottom-center.
- Settings → Mod settings: visible rows (1–4), pages to cycle through (1–10).
Notes
- Built for and tested in single-player. The code is written to be multiplayer-safe, but multiplayer is untested.
- If a 2.1 experimental update breaks the mod, please report it on the Discussion tab — the 2.1 API is still a moving target.
