Classic Rocket Silo

by Shemp

Restores the pre-2.0 behaviour of the Rocket silo by putting Space science packs in the silo, and removing the Cargo landing pad. Also has options to reintroduce Rocket control units and the old graphics.

I much prefer the original behaviour of the rockets for space science, so this mod seemed like a nice way to restore that.

However, the mod is sadly broken when SpaceEx is enabled, since the rocket returns are voided rather than appearing in the silo as intended.
It would also be nice to adjust the behaviour of the space probe rocket silo to mirror the old behaviour.

I'm not familiar with Space Exploration, but it seems likely that I'll have to mark it as incompatible. Sorry.

It seems to have a lot of custom scripts of its own for its rocket launches, and one of us would end up confusing the other depending on whose script runs first. (Arcospheres being a likely example.)

The main issue is items that give multiple stacks as launch products. Take the Navigation satellite for example: this yields 200 Satellite telemetry when launched, but these only stack to 50, so they won't all fit into the silo inventory.

Classic Rocket Silo expects rocket launch results to act like Space science packs from vanilla and to all fit into a single slot.

If I increased the number of slots in the silo inventory, then you could launch multiple satellites and the problem is just multiplied.

In a future version, I'll run a more robust check on startup and give the user an error telling them that their mods have incompatible rocket-launchable items.

Fair. I have started messing about with a prototype after writing this (because I kind of realised SE does some funky stuff that might not be worth including here), and I can see why you would want to avoid dealing with it. The best solution for now seems to be glueing an invisible cargo landing pad over the rocket silo and forcing the rocket to always target that. I'll see how far that goes, and maybe it'll make it on the portal as an SE-specific version of this.
