Card Tech Draft (卡牌科技抽卡原型)

An experimental prototype that replaces the linear tech tree with a mining-triggered card draft: weighted odds and pity protection decide which technologies you're allowed to research next, while drill heat builds up alongside it and throttles how efficiently that mining converts into progress — deliberately paired with the draft, not meant to be balanced or modded separately. Tuned against Space Age progression; no full gameplay validation performed for either configuration.

Optimal build: Waste Heat Exchangers to Waste Heat Boilers at a 1:1 ratio. Exchanger heat gain is currently very strong on its own, and it stacks multiplicatively with idle-miner cooldown below — this combination is what makes the setup this efficient.

Coverage is crucial: Waste Heat Exchangers can only absorb heat from miners within their 15-tile detection radius. They should be placed in locations that overlap with the coverage of operating miners—proportion alone is insufficient if coverage is empty. Overlapping coverage does not result in wasted heat—each eligible exchanger receives an equal share of the total heat output, regardless of overlap. However, overlap does not increase the total heat output: the heat dissipation of an operating miner covered by multiple exchangers is only counted once. To maximize heat dissipation, exchangers need to cover different, non-overlapping operating miners.

Cooldown formula: reduction = 0.839 × min(1, heat / 140000) × min(1, idle_ratio × 3).
The second term caps out once idle_ratio reaches 33.4% — pushing idle miners past one-third of your total miner count gives no further cooldown benefit.
