I am still using a locally updated version of Klonans mod,
Also I changed a couple of things as shown below.
BiggerPole.maximum_wire_distance = 50 -- was 24
BiggerPole.supply_area_distance = 3.5 -- was 0
24 was way too small in the original mod. It should have been 32. And having 0 supply made no sense to me.
With the larger wire distance, I can use this instead of the large vanilla power pole. I never liked it.

I believe you misunderstood the purpose of both mods. The vanilla one is the upgrade to this. This is the mk0. Ist must be strictly weaker as the vanilla one. If you want an upgrade to the vanilla one, I'm sure there are mods for that too.
but as long as you are fine with local changes, do whatever brings you fun.

I did not misunderstand the original mod. I purposely changed it to replace the built in large metal power pole.
