No. The vanilla overgrowth-soil technology unlock stays the same.

Does it change the crafting time?

No. Only ingredient amounts are reduced.

Why does 5 yumako seed become 3?

Item ingredients must use whole numbers. The mod halves odd item amounts and rounds up.

Is it safe for existing saves?

Yes. This is a data-stage recipe tweak with no runtime state.
