It's 'Hardcore Mode'. Everything is more punishing and more complex. It introduces many new gameplay mechanics, plus some more toys to play with.

Factorio for masochists and/or pyromaniacs

This mod is for you IF

  • vanilla was too easy
  • you DO want entirely new gameplay mechanics to consider, like maintenance, waste and pollution
  • you DON'T want variations of existing machines, higher tiers of research or markX recipes
  • you want to start your base from scratch
  • you loves explosive disasters.
  • you want a smaller, more technical base
  • UPS is not that important to you.
  • You want to mix this mod with others.

features and anti-features

  • Void energy sources are removed and all resources are finite.
  • The electrical grid no longer prioritizes laser turrets over machines, which makes it more likely your grid will collapse.
  • Your ability to "reach" is minimal.
  • Most recipes now produce an abundance of useless waste.

This mod and many of it's dependencies are very much a Work In Progress. Please be aware that I have not had time to tweak everything and that Freeplay mode may have problems I've not yet solved.
