I fixed the mod so it works with 0.17.

• Removed all quickbar modifications.
• Moved steel axe to be a technology and not an item.

Also added an option to include a belt immunity equipment in the Power Armor.

I couldn't find any link to the code so I made my own repo of the changes, also I'm not sure how to package it correctly for Factorio.

For anyone curious how to install this, simply download the repo linked above as a zip, and rename it to "a-better-start_0.4.0.zip" and put it in your mods folder
