🔥 WePlay: Burner Booster

Because you've got a factory to run, not furnaces to babysit!

You're an overworked engineer stranded on a hostile alien planet. You've got ore to mine, biters to exterminate, trains to schedule, and an ever-growing factory demanding your attention.

And now you have to walk all the way back because you forgot to put coal in the furnace?

Ain't nobody got time for that!

WePlay: Burner Booster is a simple quality-of-life mod that automatically adds FREE fuel to newly placed burner-powered entities.

No rummaging through your inventory. No hunting down coal. No awkwardly discovering that your brand-new locomotive has no fuel.

Just place your machine and get back to work. The factory must grow!

⚙️ Features

  • 🔥 Free Fuel! — Fuel is generated out of thin air! Nothing is removed from your inventory. Don't ask where it comes from. The accounting department has been instructed not to investigate.
  • 🏭 Automatic Fueling — Newly placed burner-powered entities receive starter fuel automatically.
  • 🚂 Trains Included! — Works with locomotives, furnaces, burner mining drills, and other burner-powered machinery.
  • 🤖 Robot Friendly — Supports entities placed by construction robots, because your robots shouldn't have to do everything themselves.
  • 🧩 Mod Compatibility — Automatically detects burner-powered entities and compatible fuels, including those added by other mods.
  • 🔋 Smart Fuel Selection — Can automatically choose an appropriate fuel for each entity, even when it requires something more exotic than coal.
  • ⚡ Lightweight — Event-driven functionality. No constant scanning of your factory or unnecessary per-tick processing.

🛠️ Configuration

Customize Burner Booster through Settings → Mod Settings → Map.

Fuel Selection Mode

Automatic (Recommended)

Burner Booster examines each entity's fuel requirements and selects a compatible fuel.

Ordinary furnaces might receive coal, while specialized modded vehicles can receive their own exotic fuel types.

Tested with vanilla Factorio, Space Exploration's Space Trains, and Krastorio's fuel-powered Spidertrons!

Manual

Prefer to decide what goes into your machines?

Choose a specific fuel from the dropdown:

  • Wood
  • Coal
  • Solid Fuel
  • Rocket Fuel
  • Nuclear Fuel

Fuel is only inserted into entities that accept the selected type.

Fuel Amount

Choose how much free fuel each newly placed entity receives.

  • 0: Automatically provide one full stack.
  • 1–1000: Provide the requested amount, up to the selected fuel's maximum stack size.

The mod automatically respects item stack sizes, including those modified by other mods.

Want just enough coal to get a furnace started? Done.

Want every new locomotive to receive a full stack of nuclear fuel?

Look, you're the engineer. I'm not your supervisor.

📋 How It Works

  1. Place a burner-powered entity.
  2. Burner Booster detects its fuel requirements.
  3. A compatible fuel is selected according to your settings.
  4. Free fuel magically appears in its fuel inventory.
  5. Return to your regularly scheduled factory expansion.

That's it!

A few things worth knowing:

  • Only newly constructed entities receive fuel.
  • Existing machines aren't continuously refueled.
  • Fuel must be compatible with the entity's burner.
  • The mod doesn't eliminate fuel consumption; it simply gives your machines a little head start.
  • Automatic mode may provide advanced fuels that you haven't researched yet. Consider it a generous gift from the universe.

❤️ Why?

Because sometimes you want to spend your evening designing elaborate train intersections, optimizing production ratios, or constructing an absurdly oversized megabase.

And sometimes you just want your stupid furnace to start working without having to go find a piece of coal.

WePlay: Burner Booster — Less babysitting. More building.

Proudly brought to you by WePlay, where convenience occasionally takes precedence over the laws of thermodynamics.
