In Void Block, the Void Ocean really set the scene, and can also be pumped via offshore pumps. However, it has no uses.

The only recipe that uses the Void Ocean Liquid uses water and Void Ocean to make more water, a bit of stone, and a bit of slime. And if you want the process to be self-sustaining you need to route a third of the output back as input.

The technology is also locked behind Oil Refining, and as you need water to jump-start the process, you need to use the starting Water Conjuration recipe, at which point you might as well use that instead of the Void Ocean as your main source of water.

Normally I would suggest possible uses for it, but I can't think of any. It can't even be a source of void flux because the void pumpjacks already produces it.

"There should be more uses for void ocean but I can't think of any" is kind of my thought process too.

Void ocean rectification is supposed to be more attractive than just voidcrafting the water because the yields are higher for less power, but the difference probably isn't dramatic enough. I've increased the default water yield to 600/sec, but this can be changed with a setting in case someone really liked it the old way.

I know my friend was disappointed that the sea wasn't full of baby cthulhu and/or daemons. But adding enemies is probably out-of-scope anyway.

An idea I had while driving home from work : The Void Ocean, having some sort of relation to The Void, should logically contain traces of void-only materials, namely Void Shards, Prismite Ore, and Orichalcum. And the player should be able to extract some amount of those materials from the void ocean.

This would provide an alternative source for these materials.

This is an interesting idea! I will have to ponder this a bit more. Maybe in combination with the other one.
(i.e., digging around in the void ocean can be a lucrative source of void resources but also has a chance to randomly spawn enemies!)

Maybe we need purple eggs for something and you get the eggs by filtering the ocean water but the eggs can spoil like gleba eggs into what are basically purple wrigglers. Eggs could be for a new type of rune/module, or power source, or harvested for cells to create the living-void-tron. Or maybe they can be fed directly to a special beacon living beacon that gives prod boost when it has eggs in it and it slowly eats them but you have to be careful not to let them hatch and overrun your factory. Or maybe you need them to produce void-bots which are just better bots (better mostly because they are purple but also stat buff). IDK, just started my run and was looking thru the threads for tips and saw this / gave it a mini ponder :)
