Hey, I hadn't heard of that mod so I checked it out. In their description it said it was inspired by treenades, which is awesome.
So mine came first, but it looks like theirs improves a number of things.
The main advantage mine offers its it's an earlier recipe, theirs is more of a late game recipe - but seems more balanced.
This mod was basically a learning experience for me :)
