There are some mods that modify/add gates and rails, in current state are not supported by the road, so cant link networks if there are the new type of rails/gates in the path.
Are you planning to add others mod rails/gates compatibility?

Diving the recipes seems that Bob's, Bioindustries and Krastorio2 (and 1) are the most popular mods that changes the vanilla rails and gates

I'm having a problem where I can't build rails on roads. I do have Krastorio2 installed. When mousing over the rails, it says "Base mod > Space Exploration > Transport Drones" in the tooltip. Is this the same issue? I can give a full mod list (it's long) if that's helpful.
