I believe that error means the object is not defined according to 2.0 specifications. So instead of a short, one line array, try using a multi-line object with one property (and "type" property) per line. Let me know how it goes.

Sorry that I'm only answering now. I have no idea what exactly you're describing. I never created this mod myself, I just changed the Factorio version in the Info.json file. Unfortunately, I have no idea how I could fix the problem. If you like, you can take over the update, as I don't have the modding skills for this.
