this mod allows you to partially create a forest nothing map. forest nothing is a popular custom map option from aoe2 where theres nothing but trees everywhere. problem is you can't do much with wood in factorio and you can't sell wood to buy iron ore. i see this mod as a stepping stone toward a true forest nothing mode for factorio

Well, you could set up your fuel/furnace logistics using wood instead of coal.

That being said, this is mostly just meant to be a quirky mapgen thing to play around with - nothing so comprehensive as an entirely new game mode with its own mechanics.
