I have to babysit my moat digger and place wood into it one by one because it will eat whatever wood is inside it when it moves. Both fuels spots are filled by coal and it is definitely taking the coal as fuel, so it's not using the wood as fuel. This is also ruled out due to the fact that it took a good 200~ or so stack of wood when I first tried it. The rocks, fuel, and water barrels are all still in the machine after it moves, only the wood is being deleted.
