Tarawind Beacons RELOAD 3x3


A re-reupload of Kane.Nexus' outdated Tarawind Beacons mod, which added 7 tiers of powerful beacons that can accept productivity modules and the new-and-improved 0.18 and 1.0 beacon graphics.

First, thanks for trying, but you shouldn't have.

When you take someone else's mods that people are using and port them forward, you might want to understand what the mod does and just FREAKING MAKE IT WORK.

The beauty of the Tarawind beacons was that they were 1x1 slip in anywhere beacons that held more modules than a standard beacon as you went up tiers. Do you get that concept, slip it in anywhere that you need a boost rather than designing around a 3x3 behemoth. You also fixed the effect radius to that of a standard beacon. WHY? The Tarawind beacons were expensive to take up to the next tier and was a force multiple. Due to the expense of upgrading, you got expanded coverage area. You completely lost sight of that when you bastardized this mod.

You could have at least put the LUA setting in where we could have used "classic" Tarawind compatibility or choked it down to worthlessness like the version you put forward.

I have already uninstalled this travesty of a mod. If anybody else is reading that liked the Tarawinds beacons, don't waste your time installing this.

Thank you for your input I greately appreciate it.
As you can see I have updated the mod with your suggestion and also added additional features as options but kept the classical mode as default for all of them.

I would also like your input on another matter if you like:
-The ranges for the beacons of the old mod where broken and not exactly one tile per expansion so i fixed that to be the case again, this may result in the range not being compatible with the old ones. I could look into making them exactly compatible with some more time invested.
- I also found that the MK1-6 beacons all had a steady increase in effect radius by one per level. This is not the case for MK7 which jumps up from 9(MK6) to 20(old range of MK7). I have it currently changed to 15 because I feel that the upgrade from MK6 to MK7 is not that much more expensive.

Please let me know if you would like the ranges the same (but fixed for exact tile sizes) as the old mod or kept like this and also what you think of the range discrepency balance wise or otherwise of the MK7

Thanks for updating it and with the options to keep it like was before is extremely helpful.

Wish I would have seen yours 2 mo ago to be more supportive
