📦 Starter Items Chooser (Factorio 2.0)

Starter Items Chooser is a lightweight, highly customizable mod that allows players to select their own starting inventory through a clean, intuitive GUI at the beginning of the game.

No more forced starting loadouts—pick exactly what you need to jumpstart your factory!
🌟 Key Features

🎨 Fully Interactive GUI: Select items and set custom quantities using built-in element selectors.

🛡️ Smart Auto-Equip:

Selected armor goes straight into your armor slot.

Equipment modules (e.g., personal batteries, solar panels) automatically mount inside your armor grid and are fully charged to 100% energy.

Weapons and ammo are placed directly into their respective combat slots.

⚙️ Mod Support & Limit Safeguards:

Modded Ammo Support: Quantities for modded ammo are automatically capped at their native stack_size to prevent glitches and exploits.

Armor Enforcement: Strict checks ensure players can only select a maximum of 1 armor piece.

📊 Real-Time Statistics Preview:

Dynamically tracks used slots and required inventory capacity.

Alerts you if items exceed inventory capacity and will spill onto the ground (spill_item_stack).

⚡ Quick Presets: Includes convenient preset buttons (Builder Kit, Miner Kit, Clear All) for rapid selection.

💾 Automatic GUI State Persistence: Closing the window won't wipe your selections—your choices are remembered until you confirm.

⚙️ Mod Settings

In the Global/Startup settings, server hosts and players can customize:

Max Slots: Maximum number of item chooser slots available in the GUI.

Max Item Amount: Global upper bound for standard item stacks.

🧪 TESTING & BUG REPORTING (BETA)

This mod is currently undergoing active testing. If you run into any issues, crashes, or unintended behavior, please report them!
Key areas to test:

Modded Content Compatibility: Verify that ammo or custom items from heavy overhaul mods cap correctly at their intended stack size limits.

Cutscenes & Join Behavior: Check if the GUI opens smoothly after skipping the intro cutscene or when joining a multiplayer server.

Inventory Capacity Calculations: Check if the Excess will drop on ground warning accurately calculates available inventory space.

Mod-GUI Top Button: Confirm that the wooden chest button in the top-left corner vanishes permanently after hitting Confirm & Receive.
