b Recipe not found (Workaround Available)

Well after restarts the recipes that i have unlocked disapear from the crafting meny and cant select them but will still be in assemblers i havent found any way to get the recipes back without researching the next tier

So I haven't been updating this but I can take a look when I get a chance. When you say restart do you mean open & close Factorio? What version of Factorio are you on? Also what recipe(s) is causing the issue?

Restart as in back to main meny and load back in as minimum and im on the latest factorio experimental and it has happend with all of the recipes that i have tried researching.
Gonna try out those i havent done yet to see if it is all

Huh, this is really weird. Not sure what could cause this but I'm gonna work on the mod sometime soon-ish.

The older crafting recipes are supposed to be disabled and be automatically replaced by the new (better) crafting recipes whenever you unlock a new level of specialization. Just to confirm what is happening: Everything works prior to restarting right?

Also do you have any other mods installed?

Edit: I tried to replicate your issue but I was not able to. I updated the mod with some minor changes and new graphics, lemme know if it fixes it (or breaks it more) for you.

I forgot to mention that i have mods yes and it seems like the latest version fixed it but i found some crashes (probably because i have space exploration for the rocket fuel but the others i have no idea as no other mod is touching those that crashed) https://pastebin.com/S0uetZrd
oh and those graphics are great as one doesnt need to spend a minute checking the name of the items

You are 100% right - the fluid recipes are bugged, I don't think your mods are breaking it. I'll fix this ASAP.

Edit: I think I found the issue. I think I fixed it but I'm gonna test it out tonight before pushing the new version.

So I fixed the issue. Lemme know if it works if it works for you.

I have same problem.

Yep, every time I change some mods, all Specialization recipes are gone. They will be back if I research next level, but every time it gets harder =)

At least, the machines that was working the recipe that disapeared, still work, but i cant blueprint them to upgrade the refinery...maybe you can program a debug button to reload the recipe based in the current level of specialization?

Yeah, we need that

An reload button always solves this type of problem...they're created to do so

Just coming back to this after a while. Any idea how I could implement a reload button?

Maybe on map settings...like a configuration button, or if you know the mod Powered Entities, they have a button on the interface to reload all the wires...i think that a configuration button on the map settings that reloads the recipes by scanning your actual research progress on material Specializations could solve this problem for a while...

With a phrase like this: "Reload Specialization Recipes"

Been any news on this?

Well...im waiting for the button to be implemented...if there was a changelog, we could say something, but...

I'm planning on trying to fix this this weekend. I am having trouble replicating the issue though.

Edit: Yeah I can't seem to replicate the issue. I'm saving the game with a recipe unlocked, quiting Factorio, then reopening. I still have all recipes available.

Me too, it seems to be already fixed

I'm gonna put up an untested version with a link on the main mod page. It should fix some recipe issues but I did not have time this weekend to test it out. If you want to give it a go feel free.

Ok, i'll take a look at it tomorrow after the college. 👍🏻🙂

Same, lol.

the problem was, when you change your mods (add new, update old, or update the game it self) and load the save, after that the recipes are gone.

Thats why a reload button is needed...

I have Just 164 mods...It takes some time to load the game and that's anoying to do this all time

I just realized all mine are gone and I've been playing for a couple hours tonight.. oops. lol

(updated 5 years ago)

So sorry about that.

I created a new version that attempts to reload recipes and fix this issue (if it works it should also salvage a save with broken recipes). Unfortunately, I still have been unable to replicate the issue on my machine so I can't verify it myself.

Edit: I finally got the error to occur (once) on my machine. I think I have it fixed! I'm gonna release a new version -- if it's still broken or I somehow made it worse, lemme know.

Thanks man, we will let you know here if something strange happens

new version didn't fix old saves.

(updated 5 years ago)

Could you try changing your mod configuration?. Just as a test install some simple mod (like recursive blueprints), research a modded tech, make a new save, remove the new mod (recursive blueprints or something simple), load again with the original configuration.

The configuration changed window needs to open in order to fix the issue.

Edit: Fixed!

Thanks so much for fixing this (re: other thread too)

Hmm does seem like all of my recipes are gone now, I tried the above steps and no luck.

(updated 5 years ago)

+1 the problem remains. Yesterday, after mod update, I used console command to get all my recipes back, played for some time, save. Today I updated some mods, and when I loaded the game - all your recipes are gone again.
Or your solution was to use console command after every update?

(updated 5 years ago)

Huh, this is weird. In all of my test saves it added the recipes back automatically.

The command should be running whenever a configuration change occurs. When I get more time I'll look into fixing this but for now as a workaround manually running the below command will fix the issue.

/c __Specializations__ masterEnabled()
