So I'd think they'd be useful, but are they cheaper or require less materials / produced in larger numbers per craft? because if they just needed wood or something, or required 1 gear and one plate but made a fair amount more for the exchange of the slower speed, that would be a well balanced alternative to early games especially in rail worlds before you get trains.
