i Link to the original mods

Hey there!

I noticed your "Continued" mods. It appears to me that you reactivate abandonned mods. This is a great thing imo. Though I am requesting that you link to the original mods.
The 1st and important reason for me is, that you give very little explanation about what the mods you uploaded do. You just write: "This is an update of xyz's classic abc mod." So I would like to see the original mods and read their descriptions. And linking to one or several ancestors would make it easier to understand the history of the mod.
The 2nd and minor reason for me is to give the authors of the original mods the proper credits.

Cheers!

Firstly thanks for taking an interest in my mods, I'll take your request on board and I would like to point out that I never really intended to take over these mods, I simply updated them because I wanted them working and felt that posting them on the portal for others would save people the hassle of doing it themselves. I was half expecting the original owners to show up and say they wanted their mods back so I didn't really want to get too involved in it if I'm honest.

To address your 1st point, Shuttle Train is the only one I'm really keen on maintaining/expanding at this point and as such I've been waiting until my new changes were finished before doing some complete documentation for it but I am aware that its lacking in that area.

As for your 2nd point its quite clearly stated on the front page of each mod that they are updates and the original authors are quite rightly credited there so I don't really see how linking to the original mods would add anything on that score.

To be honest I thought 95% of people using these mods would be old school users who had used them for a long time already and just missed them in 0.17, coupled with the fact that it takes 3 seconds on Google to find the original mods if you wish to do so meant it didn't really occur to me to link them but it may indeed be a good idea for completeness.

Thanks again for your input though, I'll probably do as you suggest as I start to come to terms with my "ownership" of the mods and will be working to improve the information available for new users over the next week or so :)

Great, thanks!
I am actually a user who had a look at the "recently updated" list and was completely unaware of what a mods history and purpose is. So for the new or helpless like me, that would help a lot! :-D
I think in general it is a good puplishing practice to imagine the most helpless or unaware users (like me) when publishing.
