when i produce 1 iron from molten iron via casting machine it took 10 molten iron. if i want it from iron sheet coil it needs same amount molten iron. is it a bug or there is a benefit that i cant figure it out?
Sheet coils are very dense. You can fit a lot more coils on a belt / train than you would plates.
The other benefit is that assembling machines cutting coils into plates can take additional productivity modules.
