When looking in your crafting panel, the numbers next to each item show how many you can craft. The game calculates that number based on how many raw materials you have and how many of the intermediates you can craft along the way--the whole crafting tree, no matter how complicated it may be. If there are five intermediatary steps between the items you have on hand and the item you want to craft, and you click that item in the crafting panel, then every single step along the way will immediately fill your crafting queue, no matter how complex the recipes may be.
For some reason, however, the game does not include any of my alternate recipes in these calculations. Take Laser Turrets for example: crafted with 20 steel, 20 circuits, and 12 batteries. If you have my alt recipe "inefficient batteries" unlocked (which lets you very inefficiently make batteries by hand, like 2-3x the raw material required), and lets say you have 12 batteries on hand (1 turret) but enough raw materials to make 48 more batteries (4 more turrets' worth) by hand. You can now right click to craft 5 at a time, and it will correctly use the alt recipe to make some batteries first, but it will only SAY 1 turret can be crafted, because it only sees the 12 batteries and not the 48 more that could be made.
So, I am requesting help. I've uploaded the mod to github to allow pull requests. If anyone knows how to make the calculations include my alt recipes, I would appreciate assistance.
