As the title, I have a minor nitpick:
Turning 2 ore into 3 plates is not a 100% increase (2x2), but rather a 50% increase (2x1.5).
The enriched ore would have to be smelted into 4 plates for it to be proper doubling.
In any case, this is a nice idea.
