Finally a biter mod that's a mainstay in my mods folder.
Adding this and Rampant AI to my Angels + Bobs playthrough sure upped the difficulty after the second hour passed and I was constantly trying to keep the biters from expanding too close. After 6 hours passed, I was completely surrounded and the pollution was difficult to control, so I always had to drive them back during the day or risk being overrun at night.
The darker days and absolute black nights added a lot of atmosphere of being on a hostile world where the aliens want you dead. I was legitimately paranoid about being able to survive the next night while keeping them at bay. I felt a shiver when I saw "The sun is beginning to set" pop up, as I promptly prepared as much ammo for turrets as possible.
I also love that evolution is determined by total pollution amount and goes down when pollution is lowered and biter bases are destroyed. (I always hated the vanilla way)
So yeah, when combined with Angels + Bobs the paranoia of surviving a night with additional buildings that pollute is great. Since laser turrets are so far up the research chain you must keep your head on a swivel, it's perfect.
For those using Bob's enemies and Rampant AI alongside this mod, I'd suggest adding the 'additional turrets' mod to greatly help thin the sizable horde in the mid-late game. Laser turrets often get overwhelmed unless you build a big wall of them which cause major brownouts dealing with 100+ biters in a short time frame, plus the howitzer can greatly assist in keeping biter bases at bay.
