I can access the config file but I'm having issues finding the equivalent settings in there for changing distance between spawns e.t.c. Any chance you can run down a description for the variables? Looking to make large but rare patches of ores.
I'm trying via trial and error but it takes factorio so long to load with my mods :D
Each setting does have its own description, right in the config file. There is no explicit "distance between patches" config, as that is not how the algorithm works. The option closest to what you want is probably the "Condensation Factor".
Also, there is a preset, that being the default (which are my preferred settings).
