Feels abit cheap it should be a longer production chain for late game as an alternative to scavenging for ore patches first, you would need a oil furnace it would require oil as its fuel source, it would burn iron/copper into molten metal from here you could pump the molten metal into an air cooler an air cooler requires compressed air which comes from an air extractor air extractors don't work in high levels of pollution [recipes and crafting time] [oil furnace iron to molten metal craft time 20s output 20 molten metal input 20 ore] [oil furnace copper to molten metal craft time 10s output 10 molten metal input 10 ore] [oil furnace input 10 oil] [air extractor air to compressed air craft time 50s output 10 compressed air] [air cooler molten metal to iron ore craft time 30s output 10 ore input 40 compressed air input 20] [air cooler molten metal to copper ore craft time 15s output 5 input 20 compressed air input 20]

MilkMan!! Wow .. I like it a lot!! That config is already in a mod? Seems like you create a very interesting production chain to be as realistic as possible .. Really enjoyed! I try to create ores patch in another mod to be less "Cheat" (https://mods.factorio.com/mod/OreRecipes) We can try to do it together, something like "Complex Ore Changing" or "Realistic" or something...

I made this "ore changing" mod more like a quick cheat for that "Too much iron" problem.... But we can work in this complex one!! XD

Milkman, the most difficult is the idea! :) i think the recipes code is simple, if we don't create new graphic things, with animations, new machines, etc... If we just adjust this new machines for what we already have in the game graphics...

  • New Machine: Oil furnace (( Recipe to make it 5 Electric Furnaces / 5 chemical plant / 5 processing-unit))
  • Recipe for Oil Furnace - ( 10 Oil as fuel / 5 iron-ore / 5 copper-ore ) into 10 molten mix metal (liquid) 20s
  • New Machine: Air extractor (( Recipe to make it 2 Assembling-machine-3 / 100 processing-unit)
  • Recipe for Air extractors (don't work in high levels of pollution - thats i have to study how to do it) Makes Compress Air 50s
  • New Machine: Air cooler (( Recipe to make it 1 Air-extractor/5 speed-module)
  • Recipe for Air Cooler - ( Compressed Air / Molten Metal ) into 10 iron-ore /////
    or //// ( Compressed Air / Molten Metal ) into 10 copper-ore 15s

The Machines could be very expensive for what it makes...

I think that if we want these things to be "lategame" then we should hide them behind a high tier science pack instead of making them super expensive here's how i would make the recipes
[oil furnace recipe/ 3 steel furnaces/ 2 chemical plants/ 1 productivity module 3 /10 steel]
[air extractor recipe/ 1 steam turbine/ 5 electric engine units/ 3 pumps/ 2 blue circuits]
[air cooler/ 1 assembling machine 3/ 5 electric engine units/ 12 plastic bars/ 10 red circuits]

Just a suggestion, you can add Madclown's ores https://mods.factorio.com/mod/Clowns-Extended-Minerals as they complement AngelBob gameplay perfectly.

EDIT2: Also, have you thought of a way to convert liquids/gasses perhaps? Is it possible?
