Please consider making a Swimming Mod as a stand-alone. I can't count how many times I've spawned a beautiful map... and placed on a tiny island with NO way to cross.
Such a mod would make you a hero to Factorio players everywhere.
(Bugs capable of swimming is optional... :-p )
