I was just about to post a mod request for something like this.
It would be cool if this mod also contained "roboport extender towers" that function similar to your mod, but take up a 1x1 (or 2x2) squares, offer no recharging abilities, and would not store bots. The reduced size of the tower would be easy to fit into a compact outpost. You can even split up the range that the tower broadcasts, such as a construction-only tower or logistics-only tower. Anyway, I'd love to see that feature.
