an idea for your mod is to have integrations between the weather and pollution.

Ideas:
rain/storm decrease pollution levels (maybe be configurable).
acid rain happens when the pollution levels reach a high level, it damages everything by a little amount. (there could be different levels for different amount of damages it makes) and it aggro biters.

I love the idea of adding acid rain as a weather type and having it aggravate biters / lower pollution levels, however I can foresee some lag issues with it damaging structures on larger saves (with millions of construction bots attempting to fix things).

I also like your idea to also make acid rain be "locked" until pollution reaches a certain level (and increase in frequency, eventually causing nearly all rain to be acidic). I might also make acid rain a frequent type of weather on certain planet types when space exploration is loaded (at the moment weather on other SE planets is the priority for me).

I'll put it on the todo list and for now work on the sprites and triggering biters (probably make it increase the amount of biters that attack during waves or something), decreasing pollution levels is something I will have to think about in terms of implementation (give me a while and I might give an update).

yeah your right with the acid rain damaging building causing lag makes sense.

You could make it so that a certain amount of entities are damaged with each acid storm which wouldn't lag, but would increase load times if entities are left around damaged. I assume robots would repair them though so its not really an issue.
